Spot It: Find the Difference

Two near-identical images and a set of differences to find. Harder than the genre usually bothers to be.

Two pictures side by side, a handful of differences between them, and no time limit worth worrying about. Find them all to advance.

What separates a good spot-the-difference from a bad one is whether the differences are fair, and these mostly are — changes in colour, position or presence, rather than single pixels you could never reasonably notice.

Use a system rather than your eyes. Divide both images into quadrants and compare them one at a time. Scanning the whole picture repeatedly feels faster and finds fewer differences; a methodical sweep almost always finds all of them in one pass.

This is the attention counterpart to Magic Sort’s planning. Different muscle, similar satisfaction.
